273

VIA is bringing a fresh line-up of proudly South African programming to viewers this August, with five new seasons celebrating inspiring conversations, wellness, rugby, farming and entrepreneurship.

From the return of Leandie du Randt in Gesels to former Springboks sharing their farming journeys in Boerbokke, the channel’s latest schedule highlights local personalities and stories from across the country.

Gesels returns for a ninth season

Leandie du Randt returns as host of the ninth season of Gesels, where motivation, personal growth and renewal take centre stage.

This season features candid conversations with Daniëlla van Heerden, Anrich Herbst, Amalia Uys, Rolene Strauss, Melanie du Bois and Nicole Holm, among others, as they discuss their careers, personal journeys and life experiences.

The series also explores skincare, fashion, technology and local experiences.

Cookbook author Louise Volschenk shares entertaining ideas in the kitchen, while Lyntjie Jaars makes everyday technology easier to understand in Tech vir tannies.

Sponsored by Lamelle, Gesels premieres on 8 August and airs on Saturdays at 18:00.

Boerbokke brings rugby legends to the farm

Former Springboks swap the rugby field for farm life in the second season of Boerbokke.

Hosted by Breyton Paulse, each episode visits a former Springbok to discuss rugby, farming and life after professional sport. Paulse also reviews the weekend’s rugby action, with Hempies du Toit appearing as the first guest.

The series coincides with the first Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry tour, which begins in South Africa in August 2026. The quadrennial tournament alternates between South Africa and New Zealand and features eight matches this year.

Sponsored by Vleissentraal, Boerbokke premieres on 11 August and airs on Tuesdays at 19:00.

Ons gesels balans explores wellness

Sherlin Barends presents the four-part series Ons gesels balans, which examines what it means to find balance in a busy world.

Guests including Lynelle Kenned, Ricky Schroeder, Marciel Hopkins-Lourens and Natasha van der Merwe discuss burnout, motherhood, career changes, trauma and self-care.

Experts also share practical advice on meditation, skincare, sleep, breathing and posture.

Presented in association with Vitaderm, the series starts on 13 August and airs on Thursdays at 18:00.

Hier sit die manne returns for season 13

Frank Rautenbach welcomes another line-up of notable South Africans to his man cave in the 13th season of Hier sit die manne.

Guests include long-distance runner Adriaan Wildschutt, Blitzbok Dewald Human, mountain biker and content creator Simon Stofberg, former Springbok Joe van Niekerk, singer and actor Loukmaan Adams, private investigator Mike Bolhuis, former Springbok physiotherapist René Naylor and ultramarathon legend Bruce Fordyce.

The series explores sporting achievements, mental health, recovery, creativity, loss and life’s new chapters.

A cycling segment sponsored by Platō Coffee, with Squirt as co-sponsor, sees Pieter and Danielle du Toit share practical cycling advice with Frank.

Sponsored by KIA, Hier sit die manne premieres on 15 August and airs on Saturdays at 17:00.

Maak my ‘n miljoenêr inspires young entrepreneurs

Albert van Wyk returns for the fourth season of Maak my ‘n miljoenêr, mentoring high school learners as they develop their business ideas.

Having made his first million at the age of 22, Van Wyk aims to provide the guidance he never had while encouraging entrepreneurship and financial independence among young South Africans.

The 13-episode season begins on 24 August and airs on Mondays at 19:00.

Popular favourites continue

Alongside the new seasons, viewers will also find returning favourites including Kom ons braai, Kom ons braai: familie en vriende and the weekday lifestyle programme Goeiemôre, good morning.
