VIA is bringing a fresh line-up of proudly South African programming to viewers this August, with five new seasons celebrating inspiring conversations, wellness, rugby, farming and entrepreneurship.
From the return of Leandie du Randt in Gesels to former Springboks sharing their farming journeys in Boerbokke, the channel’s latest schedule highlights local personalities and stories from across the country.
Gesels returns for a ninth season
Leandie du Randt returns as host of the ninth season of Gesels, where motivation, personal growth and renewal take centre stage.
This season features candid conversations with Daniëlla van Heerden, Anrich Herbst, Amalia Uys, Rolene Strauss, Melanie du Bois and Nicole Holm, among others, as they discuss their careers, personal journeys and life experiences.
The series also explores skincare, fashion, technology and local experiences.
Cookbook author Louise Volschenk shares entertaining ideas in the kitchen, while Lyntjie Jaars makes everyday technology easier to understand in Tech vir tannies.

Boerbokke brings rugby legends to the farm
Former Springboks swap the rugby field for farm life in the second season of Boerbokke.
Hosted by Breyton Paulse, each episode visits a former Springbok to discuss rugby, farming and life after professional sport. Paulse also reviews the weekend’s rugby action, with Hempies du Toit appearing as the first guest.
The series coincides with the first Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry tour, which begins in South Africa in August 2026. The quadrennial tournament alternates between South Africa and New Zealand and features eight matches this year.

Ons gesels balans explores wellness
Sherlin Barends presents the four-part series Ons gesels balans, which examines what it means to find balance in a busy world.

Frank Rautenbach welcomes another line-up of notable South Africans to his man cave in the 13th season of Hier sit die manne.
Guests include long-distance runner Adriaan Wildschutt, Blitzbok Dewald Human, mountain biker and content creator Simon Stofberg, former Springbok Joe van Niekerk, singer and actor Loukmaan Adams, private investigator Mike Bolhuis, former Springbok physiotherapist René Naylor and ultramarathon legend Bruce Fordyce.
The series explores sporting achievements, mental health, recovery, creativity, loss and life’s new chapters.
