20th Century Studios has released the first trailer, character posters, and official stills for the long-anticipated sequel, The Devil Wears Prada 2. Nearly 20 years after the original reshaped pop culture and fashion cinema, the sequel reunites its core cast and returns audiences to New York’s sharp-edged world of style, power, and ambition.
Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci reprise their iconic roles as Miranda Priestly, Andy Sachs, Emily Charlton, and Nigel Kipling.
A familiar world, reshaped by change
The trailer signals an immediate return to the sharp dialogue and polished aesthetic that defined the 2006 original. Miranda Priestly’s presence still commands the room, but the industry around her has shifted. Runway magazine no longer operates as a print-only empire. Digital disruption, changing fashion cycles, and new power dynamics now define the landscape.
Andy’s reappearance within Miranda’s orbit carries tension and restraint. The trailer suggests growth shaped beyond Runway’s corridors, paired with unfinished business. Emily appears more composed and formidable, while Nigel’s creative warmth once again offers contrast within the high-pressure environment.

Style, satire, and modern ambition
Visually, the sequel leans into high-gloss sophistication. Manhattan offices, exclusive fashion events, and meticulously styled looks dominate each frame. Sharp glances, clipped exchanges, and dramatic entrances hint at the film’s signature mix of satire and emotional bite.
While plot details remain closely guarded, the trailer positions the sequel as both a continuation and a recalibration. Themes of relevance, legacy, and authority play out against a fashion world negotiating its future.
The creative team returns
Behind the camera, the original creative forces reunite. David Frankel returns as director, with Aline Brosh McKenna back as writer. The continuity reinforces the sequel’s connection to its predecessor while allowing space for a modern perspective.
An expanded cast joins the universe, including Kenneth Branagh, Simone Ashley, Justin Theroux, Lucy Liu, B.J. Novak, and Pauline Chalamet. Returning cast members Tracie Thoms and Tibor Feldman reprise their roles as Lily and Irv.

Produced by Wendy Finerman and executive produced by Michael Bederman, Karen Rosenfelt, and Aline Brosh McKenna, the sequel positions itself as a confident return rather than a simple revisit.
Release date
The Devil Wears Prada 2 opens exclusively in cinemas on 1 May. The trailer promises a sharp, stylish continuation of a story that still understands power, ambition, and the price of relevance in an industry that never stands still.
