Volkswagen has opened pre-orders for the second-generation T-Roc ahead of its South African launch in early September 2026.

The compact SUV sits between the Taigo and Tiguan in Volkswagen’s T-SUV range, which also includes the T-Cross, Tayron and Touareg.

Pricing will be announced closer to the September launch.

New T-Roc Gets a Bolder Design

The new T-Roc features longer proportions, sculpted surfaces and a wider stance.

A silver hockey-stick styling line runs from the A-pillar to the D-pillar, while pronounced rear shoulders and a new lighting design complete the exterior changes.

LED headlights and rear combination lamps are standard.

Selected derivatives receive IQ.LIGHT LED Matrix headlights with Dynamic Light Assist. Illuminated strips run across the front and rear of these models.

Updated Interior Adds More Technology

Volkswagen has redesigned the cabin with a new dashboard, soft-touch materials and a driver-focused layout.

Standard features include:

  • Wireless App-Connect
  • Multifunction leather-wrapped steering wheel
  • Shift paddles
  • Volkswagen Digital Cockpit
  • 10.3-inch infotainment system

The T-Roc seats five people and offers a 475-litre luggage compartment.

Safety and Driver-Assistance Features

Park Assist and a rear-view camera are fitted as standard.

An optional IQ.DRIVE package adds:

  • Front Assist with pedestrian and cyclist monitoring
  • Side Assist
  • Rear Traffic Alert
  • Lane Keeping System
  • Traffic Jam Assist
  • Emergency Assist

Engine and Transmission

The new Volkswagen T-Roc is powered by a 1.4 TSI engine.

It produces 110kW and 250Nm and is paired with an eight-speed Tiptronic transmission.

Pricing to Be Announced

South African customers are now able to place pre-orders ahead of the T-Roc’s early September 2026 market launch.

Volkswagen will announce pricing closer to the launch date.
