South Africa’s street dance culture takes centre stage once again as Red Bull Dance Your Style returns for 2026. The world’s largest all-style freestyle dance competition launches a five-city national qualifier tour to find the dancer who will represent Mzansi at the World Final in Zürich, Switzerland, on 24 October 2026.
Built on freestyle expression and crowd-judged battles, Red Bull Dance Your Style celebrates individuality, musicality, and cultural roots.
No judges. No rehearsed routines. Just dancers, music, and the audience deciding who moves forward.
A legacy rooted in South African street culture
Since its debut in South Africa, Red Bull Dance Your Style has become part of the country’s cultural story. The platform has taken local street styles from township corners to international stages.
Past standouts include Teboho Diphehlo, known as Tebza, the 2018 champion from Soweto, whose pantsula excellence earned him a limited-edition Red Bull can. Shannon Kivido, known as Shanny J, made history in 2021 as the first South African woman to reach the global final with her waacking and voguing.
In 2025, Cape Town’s Aimsley Fortuin continued the legacy, representing South Africa on the world stage in Los Angeles.

Five cities. One national title.
