Dark spots, ageing and sun protection: NUXE targets all three in one cream

Skincare concerns rarely arrive one at a time. As skin changes over time, dark spots might appear alongside fine lines, loss of firmness, uneven tone and a lack of radiance.

NUXE is targeting several of these concerns in one daily product with its Nuxuriance Ultra ALFA [3R] Anti-Dark Spot + Anti-Aging Cream SPF30.

The new cream combines the brand’s ALFA [3R] technology with 5% niacinamide and SPF30 sun protection, with a formula designed to prevent, correct and protect.

Why dark spots become a concern

Skin ageing is a progressive biological process, with both intrinsic and environmental factors contributing to visible changes over time.

These changes include fine lines and dark spots, which is where NUXE’s approach of combining skincare ingredients with daily sun protection comes in.

The cream targets different types of dark spots, including those associated with sun exposure, ageing and blemishes.

It is also formulated to address visible signs of ageing such as wrinkles, loss of firmness, sagging and a lack of radiance.

The role of 5% niacinamide

One of the key ingredients in the formula is niacinamide at a concentration of 5%.

Niacinamide is used to help inhibit melanin transfer, stimulate natural collagen production and support the skin’s barrier function.

According to NUXE, at this concentration it works to fade existing dark spots, even out skin tone and improve radiance and texture.

This makes it particularly useful in a formula designed to tackle both pigmentation and visible signs of ageing rather than treating them as entirely separate skincare concerns.

What is ALFA [3R] technology?

The cream also contains NUXE’s ALFA [3R] technology, which the brand describes as more effective than retinol.

Developed by NUXE Research, the technology combines natural hyaluronic acid with extracts of alfalfa, also known as lucerne, and hemerocallis obtained through oleo-eco extraction.

The three Rs refer to [R]evitalise, [R]enew and [R]esurface.

According to the brand, ALFA [3R] stimulates cellular regeneration and supports natural collagen production.

SPF30 adds daily protection

Rather than requiring a separate step within the formula itself, the cream includes SPF30 protection.

It combines four UV filters designed to provide broad-spectrum protection against UVB, short-wave and long-wave UVA, and blue light.

NUXE says the protection helps limit melanocyte stimulation, prevent new dark spots and protect against premature visible ageing.

According to the supplied product information, 80% of visible signs of ageing are related to UV exposure, making sun protection an important part of the product’s approach to pigmentation and ageing.

One product targeting multiple skin concerns

The Nuxuriance Ultra ALFA [3R] Anti-Dark Spot + Anti-Aging Cream SPF30 ultimately brings three skincare priorities together: targeting existing signs of ageing and pigmentation, helping prevent further dark spots and providing daily SPF30 protection.

The formula is finished with a silky texture, bringing the sensorial element associated with NUXE products into a daily treatment designed for multiple skin concerns.

The new NUXE cream is available online through Orleans Cosmetics and at selected Woolworths, Truworths and Foschini stores.
