Skims Beauty has a new leader. Diarrha N’Diaye-Mbaye, a Senegalese strategist known for her sharp eye and deep industry experience, has been appointed executive vice president for Skims Beauty and Fragrance. It is a significant move for the brand, and a bold new chapter for N’Diaye-Mbaye.
A career built on insight and expertise
Before joining Skims, N’Diaye-Mbaye worked in marketing roles at Glossier, L’Oréal Paris and Rebecca Minkoff. In 2021, she launched Ami Colé, a clean beauty brand created for melanin-rich skin. It gained strong early recognition before closing in July 2025.
She later told Business of Fashion that the brand could not sustain the cost of competing with bigger players, especially as it tried to expand beyond its core urban market.
Leading the future of Skims Beauty
At Skims Beauty, N’Diaye-Mbaye will lead product development, innovation and brand strategy. She brings a deep understanding of what modern consumers expect from beauty.
“People want quality. They want delight. They want something that makes their lives easier,” she told Allure. “I look forward to creating items that become part of their daily routine.”
A timely shift for the beauty industry
Her appointment signals a shift toward more inclusive, thoughtful beauty. It is an unexpected turn for the sector, but one aligned with N’Diaye-Mbaye’s commitment to expanding global conversations about representation and accessibility.
Her goal remains clear. She wants inclusive beauty to move from trend to expectation. And with Skims Beauty’s scale and influence, she is positioned to drive that change.
