Workshop17 Laces Up for Little Lions Loop

482

Workshop17 is returning to the Little Lions Loop in 2026 after a meaningful debut in 2025. The coworking community will take part in the 5km run and walk on 9 February, this time with an expanded commitment: sponsoring 10 mental health coaching sessions for children and mobilising its full Cape Town network to participate.

The partnership began when Sweet Spot, a Workshop17 member, invited the space to join the event last year. The impact of that experience led to a deeper, ongoing collaboration focused on children’s emotional well-being.

What the Little Lions Loop supports

The Little Lions Loop is a community-focused 5km run and walk that raises funds for Little Lions Child Coaching. The organisation equips children with practical mental health tools that support emotional awareness, confidence, and resilience.

Little Lions Child Coaching works directly with children in Khayelitsha and Mfuleni, and partner programmes also operate in George, Somerset West, Johannesburg, Nairobi, and Eldoret. For many children in these communities, this support would otherwise be inaccessible.

Why Workshop17 is involved

Workshop17’s participation reflects its belief that work and wellbeing are closely connected.

“Wellbeing and mental health are core values at Workshop17, so supporting Little Lions feels like a natural extension of who we are,” says Penelope Meniere, Marketing Manager at Workshop17. “Work is only one part of a healthy life. Contributing to children’s emotional well-being is something worth showing up for.”

By sponsoring 10 mental health coaching sessions, Workshop17 is helping ensure more children gain access to structured emotional support.

An inclusive community event

The Little Lions Loop welcomes participants of all fitness levels. Whether walking, jogging or running, the focus stays on collective action rather than competition.

Each R250 donation provides one child with access to 12 workshop sessions. A R2,500 contribution supports 10 children through a full programme.

How to get involved

Registration for the Little Lions Loop 2026 is now open. Those who cannot attend can still support the initiative through donations via Stripe or SnapScan.
