South African mixed martial artist Terrance “The Mountain” Born has claimed the EFC Heavyweight Championship at EFC 138 in Johannesburg, maintaining an undefeated 5–0 record in the organisation.
The victory at the World Sports Betting EFC Arena took Born from the division’s No. 1 contender to heavyweight champion, marking a career milestone following years of preparation.
Born Reflects on Championship Victory
Born said winning the title rewarded the discipline and commitment behind his rise through the Extreme Fighting Championship ranks.
“Becoming EFC Heavyweight Champion is something I’ve worked towards through years of sacrifice, discipline and belief. The title is a huge achievement, but it’s also a reminder that the work doesn’t stop here,” said Born following his victory.
His five EFC wins include multiple victories by knockout.

Undefeated Run Leads to Heavyweight Title
Born progressed from contender to champion without a defeat in the organisation.
His career highlights include:
- EFC Heavyweight Champion.
- An undefeated 5–0 EFC record.
- Former No. 1 EFC Heavyweight Contender.
- Multiple EFC knockout victories.
Alongside his competition career, Born has featured in South African media interviews, podcasts and promotional appearances, building his profile within the combat-sports community.

Focus Turns to Defending the Championship
Born’s next priorities are defending the heavyweight title and extending his unbeaten EFC run.
The championship gives him a new responsibility at the top of the division. As he reflected after the victory, winning the belt does not end the work behind his career.
