Showmax and Mzansi Magic have confirmed a historic first for the global Housewives franchise, with The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Africa becoming the first Ultimate Girls Trip anywhere in the world to host a reunion.
The two-part reunion will be hosted by MaBlerh and airs on Showmax on 20 February and 27 February 2026, followed by broadcast on Mzansi Magic on 21 February and 28 February 2026.
Since The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip spin-off launched in 2021, this marks the first time a cast has reunited after filming, firmly cementing RHUGT: Africa as a milestone season for the franchise.
We caught up with MaBlerh ahead of the reunion to unpack what viewers can expect, how he plans to handle the cast, and why this season changes the game.
Africa takes the global lead
Asked what it means for the franchise to host its first-ever Ultimate Girls Trip reunion on African soil, MaBlerh did not mince his words.
“It represents Africa taking the lead on a global stage. This season sets a new standard and proves that Africa can deliver premium, appointment-viewing television at the highest level.”
A season that holds nothing back
Describing the season overall, MaBlerh says RHUGT: Africa stands apart for its rawness.
“The season is dramatic, intense and completely unfiltered. The emotions are real, the conflicts are real, and nothing feels manufactured. I have been glued to my screen every week watching the drama play out.”
No dodging the hard conversations
Housewives reunions are known for accountability, and MaBlerh confirms viewers will not be disappointed.
“Going into this reunion, I plan to address everything head-on. Everyone will be held accountable, and everything will be put on the table. My approach is not to avoid any topic or soften the truth. If it happened, it will be discussed openly and honestly.”
Remaining impartial with big personalities
With a cast made up of strong personalities and long-standing histories, neutrality is key.
“I am a professional, and I have been curating conversations for years. I remain impartial by holding everyone to the same standard. There will be no favouritism, no special treatment and no protection from accountability.”
Leaning into discomfort
MaBlerh acknowledges that some moments will be uncomfortable, but sees that as essential.
“Yes, and those moments are necessary. I host with no fear, and I believe uncomfortable conversations often lead to the most honest television.”
Why RHUGT: Africa feels different
According to MaBlerh, this instalment pushes boundaries beyond what fans are used to.
“This season feels bigger and bolder. The setting adds depth, the cast brings history, and the conversations go further than viewers may expect.”
A career-defining moment
Hosting such a landmark reunion is deeply personal for him.
“It is a career-defining moment. Hosting the first Ultimate Girls Trip reunion in the world, on African soil, is something I am incredibly proud of.”
Why viewers should tune in
For fans wondering if the reunion is worth watching, MaBlerh says this is where everything comes together.
“People should watch the reunion to see how the story ends. There has been a lot of conversation online and everywhere else, and the reunion gives the women the opportunity to answer for themselves and speak directly to what has been said.”
