PFL Africa Season 2 Ignites Pretoria with Blockbuster Showdown

724

The Professional Fighters League has confirmed that Season 2 of PFL Africa will kick off on Friday, 10 April 2026 at SunBet Arena.

The return marks the promotion’s second outing on the continent following a strong debut season. This year’s opener brings together rising African prospects and established contenders from more than 10 nations.

Bantamweight Main Event

In the headline bout, reigning PFL Africa Bantamweight Champion Nkosi Ndebele (11-3) faces Italy’s Michele Clemente (7-1) in a high-stakes showcase contest.

Ndebele competes on home soil and looks to extend his unbeaten run inside the PFL cage. The 5’10” South African holds a 75.5-inch reach and carries proven finishing power, with knockout and submission wins across his career.

He secured the bantamweight title last season after stopping Boule Godogo in the PFL Africa Finals. Expect forward pressure and a high tempo from the hometown champion as he aims to underline South Africa’s depth in mixed martial arts.

Clemente brings momentum of his own. The 35-year-old has won four straight fights since 2022, including a submission victory over Aleksandar Coti in June 2024. His only professional loss came via rear-naked choke in 2019.

With sharp striking and solid grappling credentials, Clemente poses a disciplined and technical challenge at 135 pounds.

Heavyweight Co-Main Event

The co-main event sees South Africa’s Justin Clarke (4-1) take on Senegal’s Abdoulaye Kane (5-1) in a heavyweight clash.

Clarke seeks redemption after falling short in the PFL Africa Heavyweight Final. Fighting in front of a local crowd, he aims to reassert himself as a top contender.

Kane enters the bout chasing a third consecutive knockout victory. Both heavyweights favour aggressive exchanges, setting the stage for explosive action.

A Growing African Platform

Elias Schulze, General Manager of PFL Africa, said the league reflects the continent’s ambition and identity and has evolved into a cultural platform centred on elite African athletes.

Tope Lawani, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Helios Investment Partners, added that the success of the inaugural season confirmed Africa’s strength in mixed martial arts and reinforced long-term investment in developing talent across the region.
