For the eighth time, MVT Productions, Mr and Miss Sovereign Western Cape, and Cape Town Pride join forces to present Mr and Miss Cape Town Pride 2026. The pageant takes place on Saturday, 14 February 2026, at the Joseph Stone Auditorium.
The event starts at 18:00. The earlier start allows audiences to enjoy the pageant while still taking part in other Cape Town Pride events across the city.
The competition format
This year, seven contestants will compete for the Miss Cape Town Pride title, while twelve contestants will vie for the Mr Cape Town Pride crown.

Contestants will take part in two main categories:
• Swimwear
• Evening Wear
From these rounds, the top four finalists in each category will be selected. Each finalist will answer a question posed by a judge. Final scores will determine the King and Queen of Cape Town Pride 2026.
Live entertainment and hosts
The evening features performances by popular Pride favourites:
• 3D
• Manila von Teez
• Maxine Wild
• Jarrad Ricketts
The event is hosted by Naythan Kayser, known for his confident stage presence and strong connection with audiences.

A new chapter for the pageant
This year marks a leadership change as Kat Gilardi steps into the role of Pageant Director for the first time. She takes over from Barry Reid and the late Mark Donough, who passed away in January 2021.
Kat says stepping into the role carries deep personal meaning.
“I step into this role with pride and respect for what has been built before me. Mark Donough shaped my understanding of pageantry and involved me from the beginning. That is where my passion grew.”
She adds that inclusivity and belonging are central to her vision.
“I want finalists to feel they belong. This pageant is part of our culture. For many finalists, this is their first experience, and I want them to feel comfortable and confident in their space.”
More than a title
Mr and Miss Cape Town Pride is about more than crowns. Winners become ambassadors for the LGBTQIA+ community. They are encouraged to lead, uplift others, and support meaningful causes.
A moment of silence will be observed during the evening in honour of friends and family members lost over the years.
