Leap Into an Electric Future

672

The Leapmotor C10 Hybrid EV arrives in South Africa with clear intent. Sleek design. Electric-first performance. Practical flexibility for drivers ready to move forward with confidence.

A bold new presence on South African roads

The C10 Hybrid EV stands out for its clean lines, futuristic silhouette, and assured road presence. It looks confident when parked and composed in motion.

Shortly after its local launch in late 2025, the vehicle was named a finalist in the South African Car of the Year 2026 competition. This early recognition signals substance in a market where attention often outweighs delivery.

Built for real-world South African driving

“The Leapmotor C10 Hybrid EV has been engineered to address practical mobility requirements without compromising efficiency or performance,” says Janus Janse van Rensburg, Head of Marketing and Sales for Alfa Romeo, Jeep and Leapmotor at Stellantis South Africa.

He points to the extended-range electric system as a direct response to local needs, where flexibility and reliability carry weight in daily driving decisions.

Electric-first without range anxiety

Positioned as a premium hybrid EV SUV, the C10 Hybrid EV follows an electric-first philosophy. The vehicle delivers zero-emission electric driving for daily use and eliminates long-distance anxiety with a built-in range extender.

A 970 km total driving range is supported by a 1.5-litre petrol engine that functions purely as a generator. When the battery charge drops, the generator recharges the system, allowing continued driving until charging infrastructure becomes available.

This approach supports electric mobility without forcing lifestyle compromises.

Efficiency, performance and smart engineering

A rear-mounted electric motor delivers 158 kW and 320 Nm of instant torque. Acceleration feels smooth and controlled, and the quiet cabin enhances comfort for both driver and passengers.

The extended-range system reduces the need for a large battery pack. This lowers vehicle weight and production cost, supporting a more accessible price point while maintaining strong performance.

Charging is straightforward. A 30-minute DC fast-charge restores most of the battery. Overnight AC charging at home suits daily routines and urban use.

A cabin designed around comfort and logic

Inside, the C10 Hybrid EV feels calm and intuitive. The layout prioritises ergonomics and clarity, with high-quality materials and a modern, uncluttered design.

The cabin functions like a refined, tech-forward space rather than a traditional cockpit. Comfort remains consistent across both short and long commutes.

A strong case for premium hybrid EV mobility

The Leapmotor C10 Hybrid EV blends electric efficiency with everyday practicality. It offers a clear route into electric driving without demanding full dependence on charging networks.

For South Africans seeking progress without compromise, the C10 Hybrid EV delivers balance, confidence and modern mobility.
