RHOD Star Jojo Robinson Dishes on Season 5, Friendship Fallout and Life in the Spotlight

1.2k

The Real Housewives of Durban may have just wrapped its dramatic fifth season, but the buzz is far from over.

The Showmax Original recently clinched Best TV Production at the Simon Mabhunu Sabela KZN Film and Television Awards, adding another glittering trophy to the Let It Rain Films mantel.

One cast member who’s stood her ground since Season 2 is none other than Jojo Robinson, tattoo lover, artist, wife to South African kickboxing champ Calven Robinson, and proud mom to nine-year-old Rocco.

We caught up with Jojo to chat about Season 5, her on-again, off-again friendship with Nonku Williams, and what she hopes for the franchise’s future.

Life After Season 5: “I’m a Whole New Person”

Reflecting on the whirlwind that was Season 5, Jojo says:
“Apart from a few really hard things, I really enjoyed this season. I loved getting to know the new girls.”

When asked how she’s changed since joining the show, she doesn’t hesitate:
“I am literally a whole new person. I wouldn’t even know where to start. And I look forward to the growth that will come with everything that happened in Season 5.”

Living in the Public Eye

Fame has become part of Jojo’s everyday life.
“It’s become normal for me. I’m always happy and grateful to meet anyone who loves the show,” she says.

When it comes to celebrity connections, she’s formed many, but one stands out.
“I absolutely love Khanyi Mbau. We speak often and get compared to being sisters a lot.”

Favourite On-Screen Moments

“My favourite moment this season? Our vow renewal in episode one, and reuniting with Sorisha. Finding a way to friendship again was special.”

The Joku Chapter Closes (For Now)

On her now-ended friendship with Nonku Williams, Jojo reflects thoughtfully:
“I’m appreciative of the years we spent together and the love I had for her. Unfortunately, people do change. Maybe in the future we will speak, but for now, I have peace in knowing I loved hard. The time we spent together, I saw as sisterhood, and I’m grateful for that. I wish her nothing but love and peace.”

Looking Ahead: Season 6, Healing, and Cosmetic Metaphors

If there’s a Season 6?
“I think it’s best we let the professionals decide on whoever they think is best suited.”

And if Season 5 were a cosmetic procedure?
“A tummy tuck, painful AF, but worth it in the end.”

What she hopes for the RHOD family:
“To maintain peace, find real healing for those who need it, and continue to grow. As hectic as we are, it’s our little bond.”
