1.8k

The 2026 FIFA World Cup final will make history with the tournament’s first-ever Super Bowl-style half-time show.

The performance will take place during the World Cup final on Sunday, 19 July, at the New York New Jersey Stadium, with the traditional break extended to accommodate the show.

Star-studded line-up announced

FIFA and Global Citizen have confirmed Madonna, Shakira, Justin Bieber and BTS as the co-headliners for the historic performance.

The show has been curated by Coldplay’s Chris Martin and will also feature performances by:

  • Burna Boy
  • Gustavo Dudamel
  • PS22 Chorus featuring Coldplay

Historic first for the FIFA World Cup

This will be the first time a FIFA World Cup final includes a dedicated half-time show rather than limiting entertainment to the opening or closing ceremonies.

The musical performance is expected to run for about 11 minutes, while the overall half-time interval will be extended to around 20 to 25 minutes to allow for the construction and removal of the stage.

Supporting children’s education

The half-time show forms part of a partnership between FIFA and Global Citizen to support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.

The initiative aims to raise US$100 million to expand access to quality education and football opportunities for children around the world.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup final will take place on Sunday, 19 July, at the New York New Jersey Stadium, combining football, music and a global fundraising initiative in a historic first for the tournament.
