Youth Month: Three young artists unite for inspiring new single Drie Harte

Three talented young women are marking Youth Month with a powerful message of hope, resilience and self-belief through music.

Andrea Fortuin, Regina-Lee Thompson and Talitha Luiters are set to release their debut collaboration, Drie Harte, along with an official music video on 16 June 2026 across major digital streaming platforms.

The release coincides with Youth Day, adding extra significance to a song that celebrates healing, empowerment and new beginnings.

A song born from friendship and collaboration

Drie Harte, which translates to “Three Hearts”, brings together three artists from different backgrounds, united by a shared passion for music and storytelling.

Written and performed by the trio, the single marks the first time they have collaborated on a recording project.

The track was mixed and mastered by Razer, while recording was handled by Yxnglikeme.

The song’s title reflects both the coming together of three unique voices and the themes of love, growth and emotional healing explored throughout the track.

How Drie Harte came to life

The collaboration began after the three singers shared a stage at a Bergrivier Municipality event.

Following their performance, a supporter suggested they record a song together.

Inspired by the idea, the artists began writing and developing what would eventually become Drie Harte.

In February 2026, they travelled to the West Coast, where they spent days refining lyrics, melodies and arrangements while recording the track.

Young voices supporting one another

For 21-year-old Talitha Luiters from Atlantis, the project highlighted the importance of collaboration among young creatives.

“Working as a group was a great experience. We supported and learned from one another, and it was inspiring to see everyone bring their unique talents together to create something special,” she says.

Celebrating diversity through music

Regina-Lee Thompson, 28, who grew up in Bishop Lavis and now lives in Vredenburg, believes the collaboration demonstrates the strength that comes from different perspectives coming together.

“Working with Andrea Fortuin and Talitha Luiters on our single ‘Drie Harte’ was truly a wonderful experience. We all come from different backgrounds, with unique personalities and creative styles, and bringing that together made the process so special. We supported each other throughout, making sure the song reflected all of us.”

Thompson says the response from the public has already been overwhelmingly positive.

“People have even started calling us the ‘next Jamali,’ which is such an honour because we’ve always looked up to them. We really enjoyed creating this song together, and we’re excited about what the future holds.”

West Coast locations feature in the music video

The official music video was directed by William Adams, known to television viewers for his role as Louis in Skemergrond.

Filming took place across several scenic West Coast locations, including Velddrif, Vredenburg and Green Village.

The visuals aim to complement the song’s themes of hope, perseverance and personal growth.

A Youth Month message of hope

At its core, Drie Harte tells the story of a young woman navigating heartbreak and disappointment while holding onto hope for a brighter future.

The themes align closely with the spirit of Youth Month, encouraging young South Africans to recognise their value, overcome setbacks and continue pursuing their dreams.

As the trio prepares for the official release on Youth Day, they hope the song will inspire young people to support one another, embrace new opportunities and believe in their own potential.
