Tennis South Africa (TSA) has confirmed that South Africa’s Davis Cup World Group II tie against Bosnia and Herzegovina will be played at Irene Country Club in Pretoria on 19 and 20 September 2026.

The highly anticipated encounter will see the world No. 58 South Africa face 39th-ranked Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a place in the 2027 Davis Cup World Group I Play-offs at stake.

The announcement follows Team Renault South Africa’s thrilling 3-2 victory over Montenegro at the same venue earlier this year.

The dramatic win secured the nation’s place in World Group II and reinforced Irene Country Club’s reputation as a formidable home venue, where passionate local support played a key role in inspiring the hosts.

South Africa will also be seeking redemption against the European outfit after their last meeting in 2020. On that occasion, Bosnia and Herzegovina claimed a 3-1 victory in a World Group I tie in Zenica. The upcoming fixture offers the South Africans an opportunity to settle the score on home soil while taking another significant step towards returning to World Group I.

Irene Country Club has become synonymous with Davis Cup tennis in South Africa, having successfully hosted several international ties in recent years. Renowned for its world-class facilities and vibrant atmosphere, the Pretoria venue is expected to once again provide the ideal stage for another memorable weekend of international tennis.

Anthony Moruthane, General Manager of Tennis South Africa, said: “We are thrilled to once again host a Davis Cup tie on home soil and showcase international team tennis to South African fans. Davis Cup is one of the most prestigious team competitions in world sport, and we look forward to creating another memorable atmosphere at Irene Country Club as Team Renault South Africa takes on Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“We encourage tennis fans from across the country to come out in their numbers and rally behind Team Renault South Africa. The support of our home crowd has always been one of our greatest strengths, and we are confident it will once again inspire the team. We also extend our sincere appreciation to Renault South Africa for their continued commitment to South African tennis and unwavering support of our Davis Cup team. Partnerships like these play a vital role in enabling us to compete on the international stage and host world-class events.”

With promotion on the line and home advantage firmly in their favour, South Africa will be aiming to continue their impressive Davis Cup resurgence when they take to the court in September.
