Cape Town turned heads this weekend as Zeitz MOCAA hosted the Bridgerton Season 4 premiere. The evening blended high fashion, cultural flair and old-world romance, with couples stepping out in looks that honoured the theme while making bold personal statements.
Hosted by Bonang Matheba, the event drew celebrities, influencers, and cast members who embraced the “AfroCouture Masquerade” brief with confidence and creativity. The result was a red carpet filled with texture, colour and modern interpretations of regency glamour.
Cast Style Highlights
Martins Imhangbe, who plays Will Mondrich, delivered one of the night’s standout looks. Styled by Nao Serati, he wore a burgundy Nigerian-inspired outfit trimmed with yellow detailing. The rich red and gold palette reflected both cultural pride and the evening’s regal tone.

Emma Naomi, his on-screen wife, Alice Mondrich, matched the elegance with an ivory-draped satin gown. The soft neutral tones, fluid silhouette and understated finish created a look that felt timeless and refined. Her presence brought calm sophistication to the carpet.
Masali Baduza, who stars as Michaela Stirling, also joined the cast on the night, adding further star power to the premiere. While fans hoped to see Zozibini Tunzi arrive with her husband, she attended solo and still commanded attention with her confident presence.

Celebrity Couples Bring the Drama
Celebrity couples leaned fully into the theme. Dineo Langa and her husband, Solo Langa, arrived in coordinated looks that balanced tradition and contemporary style.
Solo kept things sleek in black trousers and a tailored blazer, allowing Dineo’s outfit to take centre stage. She wore an overlapping dress featuring raffia-inspired African material, adding texture and movement to her look.

Sharing the moment on Instagram, Dineo wrote:
“Esteemed members of the TON, my husband and I took on our first carpet for the year. Netflix Bridgerton always dazzles and mesmerises, and this one was no different.”
A Night of Romance and Style
The Bridgerton Season 4 premiere proved that themed events continue to shape red carpet fashion in South Africa. Couples embraced storytelling through dress, blending heritage, romance and modern elegance in a way that felt personal and relevant.

At Zeitz MOCAA, fashion was not only worn but also shared, celebrated, and experienced together.
