In a heartfelt statement, former South African cricketer JP Duminy and his wife, Sue, have confirmed their separation after 12 years of marriage. The couple, who tied the knot in December 2011 and have two daughters together, shared the news on social media on February 17. The announcement follows months of growing speculation surrounding their relationship, which was fuelled by their noticeable absence at public events and a lack of joint posts on their social media platforms.

The couple’s joint statement, reflecting their commitment to a dignified transition, emphasised that their separation was amicable. “Hi peeps, After much consideration, Sue and I have decided to part ways. We were fortunate to have shared many memorable moments together during our marriage and were blessed with two beautiful daughters,” wrote JP. He continued, “We kindly ask for privacy as we navigate this transition. Though our paths diverge, we remain friends, and our separation is amicable. Thank you for your understanding and support during this time.”

The couple’s decision to post a unified message comes after months of speculation from fans and followers, who had picked up on signs of their separation. These included the fact that the couple had unfollowed each other on Instagram and had not shared photos of one another for some time.

Sue Duminy, a former model and fitness enthusiast, has continued to pursue various professional ventures while maintaining a relatively private yet active social media presence through her private Instagram account.
