Introducing the Arceau Petite Lune Watch by Hermès

649

Hovering between an eclipse and shimmering light effects, the Arceau Petite lune watch is graced with a dial featuring deep blue nuances lit up by diamonds adorning a gemset steel case.

Designed by Henri d’Origny in 1978, the Arceau watch embodies an elegant blend of boldness and understatement. Its round case with asymmetrical stirrup-shaped lugs creates a look that is both timeless and singular.

Crafted in steel set with 99 diamonds and topped with a rose-cut diamond crown, the Arceau Petite lune watch reveals an eclipse on its dial. A blue-lacquered gradient plays with chiaroscuro effects and highlights its abyss blue heart rimmed with 15 diamonds. Subtly associating depth and brilliance, this ‘evocation by absence’ of the periodically vanishing luminous heavenly body is complemented by an elegant star-studded moon-phase display.

Slender openworked hands sweep over this celestial universe, beating to the rhythm set by the Manufacture Hermès H1837 self-winding movement driving the hours and minutes hands along with a moon-phase display between 10 and 11 o’clock. The sapphire case-back reveals the circular-grained and snailed finishing, as well as the ‘sprinkling of Hs’ motif adorning the bridges and oscillating weight.

The Arceau Petite lune watch is fitted with an interchangeable abyss blue alligator strap expressing the House’s leather-making expertise and entirely crafted in the Hermès Horloger workshops.

Hermès creates objects. Objects shaped by the hands of artisans to make them true companions for those who wear them. Practical, functional and stemming from uncompromising expertise, they radiate the lightness of the unexpected. They make everyday life their playground, and each instant a uniquely special moment.

For Hermès, time is also an object. The house translates its inherent tension into a singular characteristic. Rather than measuring, ordering, and seeking to control it, Hermès dares to explore another time, designed to arouse emotions, open
up interludes and create spaces for spontaneity and recreation.
