Boulders Beach Named Among the World’s 10 Best Beaches for 2026

Boulders Beach Penguin Colony has earned a place among the world’s 10 best beaches in the 2026 TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards.

The South African attraction joins beaches from Mexico, Greece, Aruba, Italy, Australia and the United States in the global top 10.

Isla Pasion in Cozumel, Mexico, claimed first place in the annual ranking, which is based on millions of traveller reviews.

This year’s awards highlight secluded islands, protected marine areas, coral reefs, wildlife attractions and dramatic coastal formations. TripAdvisor also introduced a new One of a Kind category.

1. Isla Pasion, Cozumel, Mexico

Isla Pasion was named the best beach in the world for 2026.

Accessible only by boat, the private island is known for clear water and protected coral reefs.

2. Elafonissi Beach, Greece

Elafonissi Beach is known for its natural pink sand, formed by crushed shells.

The beach also features shallow lagoons.

3. Balos Beach, Greece

Balos Beach offers turquoise water surrounded by a protected natural setting.

Its distinctive coastal scenery helped secure third place in the global ranking.

4. Eagle Beach, Aruba

Eagle Beach features a quiet stretch of powdery white sand.

The beach is also known as a sea turtle nesting ground.

5. Praia da Falésia

Praia da Falésia is recognised for its dramatic coastal cliffs.

The formations feature glowing shades of orange and red ochre.

6. Banana Beach, Koh Hey

Banana Beach is a popular diving and snorkelling destination.

Visitors are drawn to its colourful coral reefs and surrounding marine environment.

7. La Jolla Cove, United States

La Jolla Cove is a protected marine reserve in San Diego, California.

The beach is known for its wild sea lion colonies.

8. Spiaggia La Pelosa, Italy

Spiaggia La Pelosa features shallow water with a Caribbean-like appearance.

A 16th-century watchtower forms part of the beach’s setting.

9. Manly Beach, Australia

Manly Beach in New South Wales is associated with a long-established surfing culture.

A pine-lined promenade runs alongside the beach.

10. Boulders Beach Penguin Colony

Boulders Beach Penguin Colony is known for its large granite boulders and resident African penguins.

Its wildlife and distinctive coastal setting secured its place among TripAdvisor’s 10 highest-rated beaches for 2026.
