Big Brother Mzansi S6 Bazozwa reveals Top 6

2.2k

Sunday night, 15 March, brought a major turning point in Big Brother Mzansi S6 Bazozwa as the official Top 6 were confirmed following the eviction of Ashay and Mmeli.

Week 9 delivered one of the most intense moments of the season. With the grand finale approaching, the Top 8 faced a high-pressure ‘Do or Die’ week as they fought to prove why they deserved the R2 million grand prize.

Sunday Night Live Eviction Show

With three housemates already securing their place in the finale, the penultimate Sunday Night Eviction show opened with host Smash Afrika reflecting on the intensity of Week 9.

Thandeka, Trixie and Liema had already locked in their spots in the final week of the competition.

Smash congratulated Ashay for achieving a record-breaking three consecutive Head of House (HoH) wins. This time, however, the title did not include immunity from eviction.

Ashay accepted the outcome calmly.

“It’s part of the game,” he said.

Moments later, Smash confirmed Ashay’s eviction, ending his Bazozwa journey just short of the finale.

When asked how he felt about making it this far, Ashay said he was proud of how far he had come.

“As an underdog, I feel proud,” he said.

Smash then checked in with the remaining housemates about their automatic placement in the finale week and how the house dynamics had changed.

Trixie said they were “cool about it”.

Thandeka shared stronger views, pointing out changes in Liema’s behaviour and saying she had become more mellow. She also admitted she was still upset about how she had been treated by some housemates earlier in the competition.

After reviewing reactions from viewers across Mzansi about who might be evicted, Smash announced Mmeli as the next housemate to leave the house.

His eviction officially ended his partnership storyline with Thandeka.

On stage, Smash commented on Mmeli’s outfit, joking about the all-black dress code by saying “all black…kumnyama”.

Mmeli quickly clarified that the moment did not feel dark for him. He said he had expected to remain in the house for only a few weeks but felt proud to reach Week 9.

“I thought I’d last about four weeks-nyana,” he said.

The two evicted housemates will reflect on their time in the Bazozwa house when Smash Afrika hosts them on Thursday’s episode of Beyond Umsindo at 18:00.

Penultimate week brings personal reflections

With the finale only a week away, the mood inside the Bazozwa house shifted from chaos and banter to reflection.

The remaining housemates used their diary sessions to speak honestly about their personalities and what they hoped viewers would remember about them.

Ashay shared that he lives with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and values order and discipline.

Bravo B said his focus from the beginning was clear.

“I came to the house to win the money and make my mark,” he said.

Didi confidently described herself as a millionaire in mindset at the age of 21.

Liema revealed a softer side, saying she hopes to leave the house with genuine friendships that continue after the show.

Mmeli spoke about honesty and said he always shares his truth, even when people struggle to understand his perspective.

Que described himself as an original who knows exactly who he is.

Thandeka highlighted patience as one of her strengths, although she warned that even calm people reach their limits.

Trixie also surprised housemates by sharing that behind her strong personality lies a softer and more gentle side.

Celebrity inspirations and bold personalities

During the reflection sessions, housemates also compared their personalities to celebrities who represent their energy and character.

Ashay said he connects with the energetic humour of Kevin Hart.

Bravo B said he relates to the late South African rap icon AKA and Maskandi star Khuzani Mpungose.

Didi linked her bold personality to Mzansi influencer Cyan Boujee.

Liema said global superstar Rihanna inspires her fearless confidence.

Mmeli said he relates to American actor and rapper Vince Staples for his private nature and sharp wit.

Que connected with the legacy of late South African music icon Riky Rick.

Thandeka named Angelina Jolie as a symbol of strength and compassion.

Trixie said she proudly matches the unapologetic energy of rapper Cardi B.

With the finale fast approaching, one thing stands out. Resilience and authenticity will decide which housemate survives the final stretch and wins the R2 million grand prize.

The Big Brother Mzansi S6 Bazozwa finale takes place on Sunday, 22 March.

Viewers can also tune in on Monday at 18:00 to watch the final Head of House challenge of the season as the Top 6 battle for the last HoH title.
