Argentina Fight Back to Beat Egypt

Defending champions Argentina recovered from a two-goal deficit to defeat Egypt 3-2 and book their place in the quarter-finals.

Lionel Messi once again proved the difference, scoring his eighth goal of the tournament as Argentina completed an impressive second-half turnaround to keep their World Cup title defence alive.

Switzerland Win Penalty Shootout

Switzerland and Colombia could not be separated after 120 minutes of football at BC Place in Vancouver, with the match ending 0-0 after both regular time and extra time.

The Swiss kept their composure during the penalty shootout, edging Colombia 4-3 to secure the final quarter-final berth.
