Ford Tourneo Custom Titanium X AWD arrives in South Africa

Ford South Africa has expanded its premium people-mover range with the launch of the Tourneo Custom Titanium X AWD, bringing all-wheel-drive capability to its highly specified eight-seater.

Priced at R1,354,100, the new derivative joins the existing front-wheel-drive Titanium X and combines its premium interior, technology and flexible seating with additional traction for South African road conditions.

More traction from all-wheel drive

The Tourneo Custom Titanium X AWD is powered by Ford’s 2.0-litre EcoBlue four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, producing 125kW and 390Nm.

Power is delivered through an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The all-wheel-drive system can distribute power between the front and rear wheels when required, helping improve traction on wet roads, gravel and other low-grip surfaces.

“The Tourneo combines the space and versatility of a people mover with the comfort, technology and refinement expected of a premium passenger vehicle,” says Ryan Searle, Director of Sales Operations at Ford South Africa.

Drivers can choose between six drive modes: Normal, Eco, Slippery, Tow/Haul, Sport and Trail.

Eight seats with a flexible interior

Inside, the Tourneo Custom Titanium X AWD offers seating for eight people with leather-appointed seats and powered sliding doors.

Individual rear seats can be removed or repositioned, allowing the cabin layout to be adapted depending on passenger and space requirements.

An optional Lux Pack adds heated second-row seats, a 14-speaker B&O sound system and panoramic moon roof.

Ford also offers an optional Mobile Office package for those who need to work while travelling.

It includes a stowable tray table, additional USB ports and laptop or tablet storage. When the vehicle is stationary, the steering wheel can also be converted into a work surface.

13-inch touchscreen and wireless smartphone connectivity

Technology is centred around a 13-inch SYNC 4 touchscreen, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

The Tourneo Custom Titanium X AWD also comes with a range of driver assistance and safety features, including:

• Rear Cross-Traffic Alert
• Reverse Brake Assist
• 360-degree camera

On the outside, the Tourneo is fitted with 19-inch alloy wheels and Matrix LED headlights.

The price includes a six-year/90,000km service plan, four-year/120,000km warranty and four-year/unlimited-distance roadside assistance.

With the addition of all-wheel drive, Ford is expanding the Tourneo Custom range for buyers who want the practicality of an eight-seat people mover combined with premium features, flexible seating and added traction.
