YFM turns up the volume with bold new 2026 line-up

1.2k

YFM is stepping into a new era with the launch of its 2026 line-up, reflecting the energy, voice and direction of youth culture in South Africa.

The station continues to grow its audience and expand beyond radio, building a platform that connects through music, conversation and digital content. This year’s line-up signals a sharper, more intentional shift in how YFM shows up for its listeners.

Fresh voices and key changes

Mid-mornings take on a new identity as Karen Mthethwa steps into the 09:00 to 12:00 slot with The Glow Up. Her arrival marks a new phase for the show. The station bids farewell to Xtremme after more than a decade on air.

Weekday nights also see a major change. Barbara ‘Baxbara’ Moagi joins Tulz Madala as co-host of Uncensored from 20:00 to 22:00. The duo promises bold conversations and strong on-air chemistry. Dimpho Makgotho exits after four years on the station.

Music shows enter a new era

Hip hop programming gets a refresh with DJ Sliqe and Roiii taking over Sunday evenings from 19:00 to 22:00. The show focuses on the sound and stories shaping the culture.

Saturdays introduce Munaka as host of The Rizz from 17:00 to 18:00, spotlighting emerging talent and trends.

Shimza joins the line-up with Karma Karma Radio on Saturday nights from 21:00 to 22:00, marking a return to the platform where his journey began. KMass also steps into a key weekend slot from 10:00 to 14:00.

Strong anchors remain

The Way Up with Nia Brown and Okay Wasabi continues to lead mornings, while Home Run with Ayanda MVP and Sinaye Kotobe holds the afternoon slot.

These shows remain central to the station’s identity, delivering music, conversation and cultural relevance that keeps listeners engaged throughout the day.

Club Y expands its reach

Club Y returns with a bigger DJ roster and stronger presence both on air and on the ground. New addition DJ Tshegu joins a line-up that includes Shakes and Les, Ggoldie, Venom, Rarri, DJ Pedabotic, Lesedi The DJ, Legendary Crisp, Just Mo and DJ Samba.

The station also bids farewell to DJ Zan-D, recognising his contribution to the brand over the years.

A growing digital universe

YFM continues to expand its digital footprint. Existing shows Tell Us Y and Culture Locked are joined by new additions that explore music, lifestyle and social issues.

Uncool MC hosts a new show focused on Amapiano culture, while Lerai leads Money Talks, a platform for conversations around youth, money and politics.

This forms part of YFM’s broader strategy to build a constant, multi-platform content experience.

Events that move the culture

Beyond broadcasting, YFM continues to lead through its event properties, including GRYND, LYFE and First Touch. These experiences extend the brand into real-world spaces where audiences connect and engage.

A line-up built for what’s next

“This line-up reflects where we are and where youth culture is going,” says Programme Manager Phindile Ziqubu. “We are evolving, creating and finding new ways to connect. 2026 is about being louder, bolder and fearless.”

The new line-up goes live on 1 April.
