WGRUV Dance Company is set to return to stages across South Africa with its new production, Highlights: Tracing the Line.
The contemporary ballet production will tour Johannesburg and Cape Town from July to August 2026 following the success of the company’s earlier 2026 production, Juxtapose.
Blending contemporary ballet with emotional storytelling, the production features choreography from internationally recognised creatives alongside the company’s founders.

Highlights: Tracing the Line will perform at:
- Roodepoort Theatre from 9 to 12 July 2026
- UJ Arts Centre from 20 to 23 August 2026
- Homecoming Centre from 27 to 29 August 2026
International choreography meets South African contemporary ballet
The production includes works from:
- Jessica Lang
- Jesse Obremski
- Michael Trusnovec
alongside choreography by WGRUV founders:
- Holly Gruver
- Lex Gruver
According to the company, the production explores:
- movement
- connection
- emotion
- and the expressive power of the human body
through a carefully curated programme designed to emotionally connect with audiences.
Special student performances planned
WGRUV will also host educational dress rehearsals for students and school groups in each city.
The rehearsals will take place at 16:00 on the Thursday before opening night and will include:
- live performances
- dancer Q&A sessions
- behind-the-scenes engagement
