The Revamped Renault Triber: Bigger, Bolder and Better

71

Renault, one of the world’s most trusted automotive brands, has been part of South Africa’s motoring story for more than 127 years. Since its local reintroduction in 1955, the marque has continued to grow from strength to strength — and the Renault Triber has been one of its standout success stories.

First launched in South Africa in 2020, the Triber quickly became a firm favourite among families and e-hailing operators thanks to its spacious interior, practicality and affordability. With more than 30,000 units sold locally, it has proven to be one of Renault’s most popular compact MPVs.

Now, the new 2025 Renault Triber arrives with a host of improvements — from design to safety to comfort — offering 31 new features and a sharper, more premium look.

Refined Design and Modern Details

The new Triber’s exterior exudes confidence, featuring:

  • A bold piano black grille
  • New sculpted bonnet design and redesigned bumpers
  • Advanced LED projector headlamps with integrated DRLs
  • Updated LED tail lamps for a modern finish

Inside, the Triber has been completely reimagined. The cabin now features a dual-tone dashboard, 8-inch floating touchscreen display with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a 7-inch TFT LED instrument cluster.

Premium touches such as LED cabin lighting, new seat upholstery, and blacked-out door handles give the interior a more refined feel. A wireless charging pad (exclusive to the Iconic model) adds modern convenience, while auto headlamps, wipers, and independent rear air vents enhance comfort for all passengers.

More Space, More Possibilities

The Triber continues to champion its best-in-class modular seating, configurable as a 5-, 6-, or 7-seater, with the third row featuring Easy-Fix seats. In 5-seater mode, it offers a segment-leading 625 litres of boot space, making it ideal for families, road trips, and active lifestyles.

The model also launches under Renault’s new “Rethink Space” brand transformation strategy — highlighting versatility under the tagline: many lives. one car.

Under the Hood

Powering the Triber is a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, delivering 52kW at 6250rpm and 96Nm of torque at 3500rpm. It comes with a 5-speed manual transmission or an optional 5-speed AMT on the top-spec Iconic trim.

This efficient setup offers smooth, responsive performance suited for both city commutes and longer drives, with a focus on reliability and fuel economy.

Safety First

Safety remains a key highlight of the new Triber. Standard across all variants are:

  • Six airbags
  • Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD)
  • Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
  • Front parking sensors (a segment first)
  • Follow-Me-Home headlamps
  • Front and rear seatbelt reminders
  • Take-Belongings reminder for added security

These upgrades ensure the Triber offers one of the most comprehensive safety packages in its segment.
