Following the launch of its limited-edition Ginger Beer Flavoured Dairy Fruit Mix, Tropika has taken its celebration of South African heritage beyond supermarket shelves and into local communities.

The dairy fruit mix brand has unveiled a vibrant campaign featuring 15 public murals and 115 branded taxis travelling through Gauteng, Limpopo and Mpumalanga.

Inspired by Dr Esther Mahlangu’s legacy

Inspired by the world-renowned geometric artistry of Dr Esther Mahlangu, the campaign celebrates South African creativity while transforming everyday spaces into colourful canvases of artistic expression.

From neighbourhood walls to busy commuter routes, the initiative brings bold public art to thousands of South Africans each day.

The selected provinces share a special connection with Dr Mahlangu, who was born in Middelburg, Mpumalanga. Her distinctive Ndebele-inspired artwork has earned international recognition, making her one of South Africa’s most celebrated artists.

Tropika says the campaign pays tribute to her legacy while encouraging communities to embrace local culture and creativity.

Bringing art into everyday life

“South Africa has an incredible creative spirit that deserves to be celebrated in the places where people live, work and travel every day,” says Sveti Kovatcheva, Brand Manager: Dairy Fruit Mix at Clover.

“Our new limited-edition Ginger Beer flavour is a bold, nostalgic nod to authentic South African taste preferences. Partnering with the legacy of Dr Esther Mahlangu allows us to mirror that sensory warmth with visual pride. By taking these masterpieces onto commuter routes and neighbourhood walls, we are making iconic public art accessible to all and turning everyday travel into a celebration of our shared cultural identity.”

A moving celebration of local culture

While the murals create lasting artistic landmarks within communities, the fleet of branded taxis transforms one of South Africa’s most recognisable forms of transport into moving works of art.

Together, the murals and taxis extend the celebration of Tropika’s limited-edition Ginger Beer Flavoured Dairy Fruit Mix while showcasing South African creativity in the places people pass through every day.
