Remembering Warrick “DJ Warras” Stock
The family shared the following statement:
“A devoted son, a loving and immensely proud father, and a cherished brother and uncle, Warrick (40) was the heart and anchor of our family. Affectionately known as DJ Warras, and to many as ‘The Shady Lurker’, he brought light, laughter and strength into every space he entered.
“His warmth, generosity and influence extended far beyond his home. He touched the lives of friends, colleagues and the wider South African entertainment community, where he was deeply loved and respected.”
A family forever changed
“Warrick leaves behind his three young children, his mother and his siblings, whose lives have been irrevocably changed by this profound loss.
“As we begin the painful journey of mourning, we humbly request privacy, compassion and understanding during this unimaginably difficult time.”
Call for space and justice
“We respectfully ask that the South African Police Service be afforded the space and support required to conduct a thorough investigation so that justice may be served.
“At this stage, the family is not in a position to appoint a spokesperson. We kindly ask to be kept in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate this devastating loss.”
Gratitude for public support
“The Stock family extends heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love, messages of support and condolences received since the news of Warrick’s passing became public. Your kindness, compassion and solidarity have brought moments of comfort during an incredibly dark time.
“Details regarding memorial and funeral arrangements will be shared in due course.”
