Murdoch runs through dark woodland, handcuffed to Jules Hope. Police dogs and sirens echo behind them. They emerge at the Manchester Ship Canal with officers closing in from both sides. Desperate, Murdoch urges Jules into the water as DS Reinhardt and Detective Richard Iddon arrive moments too late.

Tuesday, 24 February 2026
Reinhardt storms into Cherry Tree Gardens, where Murdoch and Jules were last seen. Crabtree’s body lies smashed on a car below. Iddon enters the flat alone and is outmanoeuvred when Murdoch and Jules trap him on a balcony and escape past Reinhardt on the stairs. Tensions rise within the police team as the fugitives slip away again.

Wednesday, 25 February 2026
A week earlier. Flashbacks reveal Jules’ deeper involvement. Her brother Dan warns her about Eddie during a prison visit. Murdoch is arrested in Blackpool. Reinhardt and Iddon inform him that Dan, not Eddie, is the key. With Eddie dead, the focus shifts. Reinhardt worries about Lucy’s safety and pushes Murdoch to help locate Dan.
