Ou Ses: Elke Move Tel delivers raw, unforgettable performances

Hartzenberg Films brings a powerful story to the big screen with Ou Ses: Elke Move Tel, the flagship title in the Heart & Hustle anthology. The film screens at Ster-Kinekor cinemas nationwide from 27 November to 7 December 2025.

This is a story of redemption, betrayal and the fragile road back to forgiveness. It is anchored by three standout performances from Ganief Mias, Awethu Hleli and Tashreeq De Villiers.

A story rooted in truth and consequence

The film follows Charles, played by filmmaker Enrico Hartzenberg. After serving time for a crime he did not commit, he returns home to a community fractured by secrets, ambition and unresolved pain. His return forces old wounds into the open and exposes the truth that those closest to him worked hard to bury.

Ganief Mias delivers a career-defining performance

Ganief Mias takes on the role of Justin, Charles’s former best friend. His betrayal drives the film’s conflict.

“Justin’s choices come from pain and fear,” Mias explains. “He’s not a villain. He’s human. Playing him meant exploring how guilt and ambition twist love into something harmful.”

Awethu Hleli brings emotional clarity

Award-winning actress Awethu Hleli plays Nandipha, Justin’s girlfriend and a therapist-in-training who becomes the film’s moral centre.

“Nandipha sees what others don’t,” says Hleli. “She is the quiet voice insisting on honesty, even when it hurts.”

Tashreeq De Villiers ignites the screen

Tashreeq De Villiers plays Boogie, a charismatic and unpredictable figure whose decisions push the story to its limits. His performance adds tension and momentum, keeping audiences locked in from the first scene.

A strong supporting cast with heart

Charlene Le Roux gives depth to the role of Edwina, Charles’s mother. Rasheeqah Karriem brings humour and warmth as Mandy. Together, the ensemble delivers a mix of emotion, honesty and character that reflects real community stories.

Enrico Hartzenberg: a voice shaping Cape Town’s storytelling

Hartzenberg is a Cape Town-born actor, filmmaker and cultural storyteller. His work includes Liefde is Rooi, the web series Van Adamse, and films Sister Dinges, Mr. Isaacs and My Best Friend. His work is known for its emotional integrity and strong community focus.

With Ou Ses: Elke Move Tel, he continues to explore identity, trauma and resilience within the Coloured community.

“This cast gave the story its pulse,” he says. “Every performance carries a truth that invites audiences to see themselves.”
