South African music legends Brothers of Peace (B.O.P), Liquideep and Mdu have been unveiled as the first artists confirmed for Oskido’s Big Day Out 2026, setting the stage for a nostalgic celebration of the country’s iconic dance music.

Returning to Huddle Park in Linksfield, Johannesburg, on Saturday, 28 November 2026, the festival promises a journey through the sounds that have shaped generations of South Africans.

A celebration of South African music legends

This year’s festival honours the pioneers whose music became the soundtrack to township street parties, family braais, packed dance floors and unforgettable road trips.

Leading the Phase One line-up are Brothers of Peace, made up of Bruce “Dope” Sebitlo and Oskido, alongside Liquideep and kwaito icon Mdu.

Together, these artists helped define South Africa’s dance music culture and continue to influence today’s generation of performers.

Bigger than ever before

Curated by legendary producer and DJ Oskido, Big Day Out has become one of South Africa’s premier music festivals, bringing together established stars and emerging talent for a celebration of music, culture and community.

The 2026 edition will feature two stages, offering festivalgoers an even broader musical experience that celebrates both the country’s rich musical heritage and its evolving future.

“Big Day Out has always been about celebrating the music that connects us all,” said Oskido.

“These are artists whose songs became part of our lives. Their classics continue to fill dance floors, and it’s only fitting that we celebrate their contribution while creating new memories together.”

More artists still to be announced

Organisers have confirmed that the first wave of artists is only the beginning.

Additional headliners, surprise performances, lifestyle experiences and brand activations will be revealed in the coming weeks as excitement builds for one of South Africa’s biggest music festivals.

Fans can expect a day packed with classic hits, nostalgic moments and performances spanning house, kwaito, amapiano and hip hop.
