Suzuki launches the fourth-generation Dzire

340

Suzuki Auto South Africa is setting the stage for an exciting new journey in the AB-segment arena with the launch of its fourth-generation Dzire.

This sleek compact sedan promises a remarkable blend of comfort, practicality, safety, and driving pleasure—all at a price that won’t burn a hole in your pocket. As the automotive industry continues to adapt to consumers’ demands for affordability, the Dzire emerges as a beacon for value-seeking motorists.

Styled to stand out

The new Dzire is crafted to make a lasting impression. Its progressive exterior design begins with a strikingly wide front fascia that highlights its bold character. GA models feature a stylish black fascia, while the GL+ versions adopt an upmarket piano black finish complemented by a distinctive chrome accent, providing an aesthetic boost. The contemporary appeal is further enhanced by narrow halogen projector beam headlamps that light the road ahead.

As one looks at the Dzire from the side, its elegant silhouette is accentuated by a raked windscreen, electric folding side mirrors, and an assertive C-pillar that seamlessly flows into the compact boot lid and T-shaped LED tail light clusters. The entry-level GA models come with 14-inch steel wheels, while the GL+ variants roll on sporty black 15-inch alloys. With a palette of seven striking exterior colours—including Alluring Blue Pearl Metallic and Gallant Red Pearl Metallic—the Dzire guarantees you’ll find a hue that suits your style.

A familiar space to face the rat race

Storage is abundant, featuring a glove box, various compartments, and rear occupants benefit from a folding centre armrest complete with built-in cup holders. Both Dzire GA and GL+ variants come equipped with digital air conditioning, USB ports, rear parking sensors, hill hold assist, and a host of fundamental comfort features.

Moving up to the GL+ model adds further luxuries, including cruise control, a multifunction steering wheel, a 7-inch display audio system with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility, and a reverse camera, creating an environment that is both convenient and modern.

Power for work and play

Whether you’re navigating through daily errands or enjoying scenic drives, the new Dzire is ready for any endeavour. It is powered by Suzuki’s advanced Z12E 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, delivering 60kW at 5,700rpm and 112Nm of torque at 4,300rpm. This lighter and more efficient engine assures a spirited performance thanks to multipoint fuel injection and four valves per cylinder, while maintaining frugality with a combined fuel consumption rate as low as 4.4l/100km (or an impressive 22.72km/l). Depending on customer choice, the engine can be paired either with a five-speed manual gearbox featuring an auto stop/start system or a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

Advanced new architecture

The Dzire measures 3,995mm long, 1,735mm wide, and 1,525mm tall, sharing its structural underpinnings with the fourth-generation Swift, utilising Suzuki’s modern ‘HEARTECT’ platform. This sophisticated construction not only ensures class-leading driving dynamics through reduced weight and increased torsional rigidity but also enhances handling, comfort, and overall driving responsiveness.

Driving confidence with advanced safety features

Suzuki prioritises safety, which is evident as all new Dzire models come equipped with six airbags, side impact door beams, and advanced braking systems. The presence of an electronic stability programme, rear parking sensors, and ISOFIX anchors further amplifies the vehicle’s commitment to occupant safety.
