As the vibrant city of Cape Town braces itself for Africa’s Grandest Gathering, preparations are in full swing for the 2025 Cape Town International Jazz Festival (CTIJF). Scheduled to take place from April 25 to 26 at the iconic Cape Town International Convention Centre, this celebrated festival promises to be a spectacular showcase of both local and international talent, attracting thousands of attendees from around the globe.
The City serves not only as a backdrop for the festival but as a part of a larger narrative that celebrates its rich heritage. In January this year, Cape Town was voted the best city in the world by Time Out, reaffirming its status as a premier destination.
This year’s theme, “Legacy meets tomorrow,” sets the stage for a dynamic concert that celebrates both past legends and future talents. Headlining the event is Grammy award-winning DJ and producer Black Coffee, known for his ability to electrify crowds and redefine electronic music worldwide. He will be collaborating with the talented Nduduzo Makhathini as part of an extraordinary lineup that includes the likes of Thandiswa Mazwai, Ari Lennox, Lira, and many others. With historic stages named Kippies, Manenberg, Rosies, and Moses Molelekwa, festival-goers can look forward to an unparalleled musical experience.
This year’s CTIJF is not merely an event; it is a moment destined to rewrite the story of live music on African soil. With an impressive blend of global and local talent, attendees are encouraged to secure their tickets early as they are known to sell out rapidly.
