Maxwell cancels South African tour: What ticket holders need to know

Grammy Award-winning R&B singer Maxwell has cancelled his August 2026 South African tour due to unforeseen circumstances beyond his control.

The tour was scheduled to include concerts in Pretoria and Cape Town over the Women’s Day long weekend.

Maxwell’s cancelled South African concert dates

Maxwell was due to perform at the following venues:

• Pretoria: Saturday, 8 August 2026 at the SunBet Arena, Time Square
• Cape Town: Tuesday, 11 August 2026 at the Grand Arena, GrandWest

Both concerts have been cancelled.

Will Maxwell ticket holders receive refunds?

Promoter Vertex Events confirmed that all ticket holders will receive a full refund.

Webtickets will contact ticket purchasers directly by email with the available refund options and instructions.

Ticket holders should monitor the email account used when making their purchase for further information.

Maxwell could return to South Africa in 2027

According to the promoters, Maxwell is unable to travel to or perform in South Africa at any point during 2026.

Both parties are working to find alternative dates for his return in 2027. No new concert dates have been announced.
