Klipdrift joins Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry ahead of Springboks and All Blacks clashes

931

Klipdrift has been announced as a partner of Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry, supporting the historic rivalry between the Springboks and the All Blacks as the two rugby powerhouses prepare to meet in South Africa.

The partnership was unveiled at an event held at Van Ryn’s Distillery and Brandy Cellar on 11 June, bringing together one of South Africa’s most recognised brandy brands and one of world rugby’s most celebrated rivalries.

Springboks and All Blacks rivalry returns to South Africa

The tour will see the All Blacks face South African provincial teams before taking on the Springboks in Test matches in Johannesburg and Cape Town.

For many rugby supporters, the occasion extends beyond the action on the field. The rivalry has become synonymous with family gatherings, match-day traditions and conversations that continue long after the final whistle.

“Klipdrift has always been part of the moments that bring South Africans together,” says Andrea Quaye, Marketing Director at Heineken Beverages.

“Being part of a rivalry like this gives us the chance to show up in a space that feels very natural to the brand and to the way South Africans experience rugby.”

Celebrating rugby fans and traditions

Klipdrift said the partnership focuses on the shared experiences that surround rugby, from watching matches with friends and family to celebrating the traditions that unite supporters across the country.

Rian Oberholzer welcomed the partnership and highlighted the role supporters play in making the rivalry one of rugby’s biggest spectacles.

“The beauty of Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry is that it goes beyond the players on the field. It’s created by generations of fans, the atmosphere they bring and the moments they share. This partnership helps us build on that legacy and deliver an even bigger experience around one of rugby’s great rivalries.”

Klipdrift launches ‘Bok doubles’ campaign

As part of the sponsorship campaign, Klipdrift is introducing a fan activation inspired by the popular double Klippies and Coke order.

The campaign encourages South Africans to find their “Bok doubles”, everyday people who resemble their favourite Springbok players.

Participants stand a chance to win Klipdrift prizes and potentially feature in the wider campaign.

A local touch to a global rugby spectacle

With anticipation growing ahead of the tour, Klipdrift’s involvement adds a distinctly South African element to one of the biggest events on the international rugby calendar.

The partnership aims to celebrate the moments of connection, camaraderie and shared memories that have defined the Springboks and All Blacks rivalry for generations.

As Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry returns to South Africa, Klipdrift is positioning itself at the heart of the conversations, celebrations and traditions that surround the game.
