Kfm 94.5 Opens Nominations for 2026 Best of the Cape Awards

Cape Town’s biggest celebration of local favourites is back, with Kfm 94.5 officially opening nominations for the 2026 Best of the Cape Awards, powered by Yoco.

Now in its sixth year, the awards invite residents across the Western Cape to recognise the businesses, attractions and personalities that make the province unique.

The launch follows a record-breaking 2025 campaign, which received almost 17,000 nominations and more than 400,000 public votes.

Celebrating the Best of the Western Cape

This year’s awards feature 30 categories covering restaurants, family attractions, shopping destinations, neighbourhood favourites and adventure experiences.

A new category, Best Place to be Seen, has also been introduced to recognise the destinations that are generating the biggest buzz both online and offline.

Other featured categories include Best Date Night Restaurant, Best Kids Party Spot, Best Adventure Experience and Best Neighbourhood Shop.

A Celebration of Local Businesses

Kfm 94.5 Station Manager Hennie Myburgh says the awards have grown into a celebration of the people and businesses that give the Western Cape its unique character.

“This isn’t just an awards programme. It’s a celebration of the people, places and businesses that make the Cape so special. Every year we see incredible passion from our listeners, and we’re inviting everyone to rediscover their home by supporting the local icons and hidden gems they love.”

Yoco returns as headline partner for the third consecutive year, continuing its support for local entrepreneurs and independent businesses.

Yoco co-founder Carl Wazen says the awards recognise the businesses that play an important role in their communities.

The 2026 Best of the Cape Awards schedule is:

• Nominations: 7 to 17 July 2026
• Finalists announced: 4 August 2026
• Public voting: 5 to 13 August 2026
• Winners announced: 21 August 2026

Residents across the Western Cape are encouraged to nominate their favourite businesses, experiences and local hotspots through the Best of the Cape website.
