SABC2 has unveiled its newest telenovela, Pimville, a heartfelt township drama that blends love, ambition, betrayal, and hope. Produced by Bakwena Productions, the series is shaped by the spirit of Soweto, where community, resilience, and shared stories form the heartbeat of everyday life.
A story shaped by township resilience
Pimville captures the rhythm of life where dreams meet hardship, secrets influence families, and relationships are tested. With strong performances and an authentic narrative, the series is set to stand out as one of South Africa’s most engaging new entries in local television.
Executive Producer Rashaka Muofhe says the show is a tribute to the township identity. “Pimville is a love letter to the township spirit, raw and unbreakable. We wanted to honour the resilience and beauty of our communities. Working with SABC2 has been a privilege.”
Dichaba Phalatse, SABC Video Entertainment Marketing Manager, says the series aligns with the channel’s core purpose. “SABC2 tells stories that reflect our people. Pimville mirrors our society’s struggles and triumphs. It will resonate with audiences and strengthen our place as the home of inspiring local content.”
