The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip

258

On Friday, 28 November, Showmax releases the first episode of The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Africa. Mzansi Magic will air each episode from Saturday, 6 December, at 7 PM.
This new season unites some of Africa’s most recognisable Housewives for a high-energy escape set under the bright sun of Brazil.

A Continental Cast
After the success of The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: South Africa, the franchise expands its reach. This season features stars from South Africa, Kenya and Nigeria, and promises bold fashion, heated moments and a few surprises.

South Africa is represented by Annie Mthembu, Angel Ndlela and Jojo Robinson from Durban, as well as Madam Evodia Mogase and Christall Kay from Johannesburg.
Kenya brings Dr Catherine Masitsa and Zena Nyambu from Nairobi.
Nigeria joins the cast with Princess Jecoco from Abuja and Mariam Timmer from Lagos.

Ahead of the season premiere, we caught up with returning cast member Christall Kay. She spoke about her preparation, her expectations, and what viewers can look forward to.

Christall Kay on Packing for Brazil
“Well, knowing it was a beach destination, the first thing I packed was my bikini. And a thong, because it’s Brazil,” Christall says with a laugh. She adds, “I brought killer outfits to blow those girls away. I also thought I might meet the man of my dreams, so I was ready for that, too.”

She packed a complete samba outfit and dancing shoes for her own “Christall Edition” salsa moment. And yes, the sunglasses also made it into the bag.
“I was fully armed and ready for this adventure.”

Her Advice for First-Time Girls Trip Housewives
“Be authentic. Enjoy the experience. And do not insult or bully me because you will regret it,” she says.
“I never start, but I do respond.”

Her Dream Africa-Wide Cast
Christall lists Tarina, Mrs Mops, Lebo and Evodia from early Real Housewives of Johannesburg seasons. She adds LaConco from Durban and, of course, herself.
“That would be fun, full of spice, and all in good spirit.”

On the Brazil Cast and Old Rivalries
“I only know Jojo and Evodia. Evodia was my archenemy in Season 1, but there is respect there. We fought, but we also came together. We will see what happens this time.”
When asked who she would replace, she says, “Let the season play out first.”

Who She Follows and Who Follows Her
Christall says she is a fan of Jojo. She also keeps in touch with Tarina, LaConco and Mel.
As for celebrity supporters, she mentions Somizi. “He even invited me to sing with him and his crew at Metro FM. It was a blast.”

Why Viewers Should Watch Her
“I am the girl at the centre of the fun and drama. Some girls get jealous and try to insult or bully me, but I always rise above it. I give it back with wit, charm, and a sense of fun.”
