Grammy Award-winning global superstar Doja Cat will headline the 2026 edition of Move Afrika, Global Citizen’s pioneering pan-African touring circuit.
Now in its third year, Move Afrika continues to position Africa at the centre of the global live music economy.
Presented in partnership with PG Lang and Kendrick Lamar, Move Afrika 2026 will take place in two major cities this March:
- 17 March 2026 – BK Arena, Kigali, Rwanda
- 20 March 2026 – SunBet Arena, Time Square, Pretoria, South Africa
The tour is hosted in partnership with the Rwanda Development Board and supported by Major Tour Partner Cisco.
Move Afrika 2026: A Pan-African Music Movement
Move Afrika is designed to build the first large-scale pan-African music touring circuit. Its goal is clear:
- Drive economic investment
- Create sustainable jobs
- Strengthen Africa’s live entertainment infrastructure
- Expand opportunities for young people in creative industries
“From my South African roots straight to the world stage, we’re bringing energy, purpose, and real change to Move Afrika in Kigali and Pretoria,” said Doja Cat. “This isn’t just a tour, it’s a movement that creates jobs and opportunities that last.”

Hugh Evans, Co-Founder and CEO of Global Citizen, said the 2026 edition marks another milestone in redefining global touring by placing Africa’s creative excellence at the centre of the international circuit.
Jean-Guy Afrika, CEO of the Rwanda Development Board, added that the partnership reinforces Rwanda’s ambition to become a leading destination for international live entertainment while delivering meaningful economic impact.
Economic Impact Across Africa
Since its launch, Move Afrika has:
- Created more than 2,500 jobs in Kigali and Lagos
- Filled over 90 percent of crew and production roles with local talent
- Expanded youth training in rigging, security, hospitality and live event operations
- Partnered with the Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator to deliver paid, hands-on experience
The 2026 edition will also continue Global Citizen’s advocacy for stronger healthcare systems across Africa, alongside the Music Economy Development Initiative, which positions music as a driver of long-term, sustainable economic growth.
