Wine, Whales and Music Collide at De Hoop Collection Weekend 2026

521

De Hoop Collection returns with its signature Wine Whales and Music Weekend from 19 to 21 June 2026, offering a curated escape that blends coastal nature, live music and premium wine experiences.

Set within the De Hoop Nature Reserve, the three-day event brings together food, culture and marine life in one of the country’s most scenic locations.

A Weekend Built Around Experience

The programme opens on Friday evening with a wine tasting followed by a wine and food pairing dinner. Guests will enjoy “Diamonds and Divas”, a live music show featuring Johan Liebenberg and Lucy Tops.

The performance celebrates iconic global artists through a mix of ballads, pop and rock, delivering a high-energy start to the weekend.

Saturday: Tastings, Workshops and Live Music

Saturday offers a full day of interactive and immersive activities.

Guests can join a chocolate truffle-making workshop led by Richard von Geusau, or explore wine and cheese tastings featuring regional producers such as Bruce Jack Wines, Lomond Wines and Springfontein Wines.

An eco boat cruise offers a closer look at the reserve’s marine environment, while a guided tour of the Origins of Early Modern Man exhibition adds a cultural layer to the experience.

In the afternoon, a talk by Jenny Cullinan explores the ecological importance of wild bees and their role in natural systems.

The day concludes with the Whale Time Serenade Dinner at the Fig Tree Restaurant. Guests will enjoy a live classical performance by musicians including Malané Hofmeyr-Burger and Irene Tsoniff.

Sunday: Coastal Exploration

On Sunday, guests head to Koppie Alleen for a guided marine walk. This stretch of coastline offers prime whale-watching opportunities, with expert guides sharing insights into the area’s marine life.

Accommodation and Booking

Weekend packages for a two-night stay range from R3 095 per person sharing to R8 500 per person for a suite. Rates include meals, entertainment, tastings and selected experiences, with optional activities available at an additional cost.

A Standout Winter Escape

The Wine Whales and Music Weekend positions De Hoop as a winter destination where nature, food and entertainment meet.

From whale sightings along the coast to curated wine experiences and live performances, the event delivers a well-rounded escape for travellers seeking both relaxation and engagement.
