Airlink launches direct Cape Town-Mauritius flights: Here’s the schedule

Airlink has launched direct flights between Cape Town and Mauritius, giving Western Cape travellers a new non-stop option to the Indian Ocean island without connecting through Johannesburg.

The airline operated its inaugural flight on 2 October 2026, marking Airlink’s first route to Mauritius.

Flights will operate twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays, using Airlink’s new Embraer E195-E2 aircraft.

Cape Town to Mauritius flight times

Flight 4Z 350 will depart Cape Town International Airport at 10.05 on Tuesdays and Fridays, arriving in Mauritius at 17.15.

The return flight, 4Z 351, will leave Mauritius at 18.15 and arrive in Cape Town at 22.35.

The schedule has been designed to give leisure travellers more usable holiday time while allowing business travellers to plan trips without middle-of-the-night or pre-dawn departures and arrivals.

Airlink’s first route to Mauritius

The new service connects two major leisure and business travel destinations in Africa and the Indian Ocean.

Airlink CEO de Villiers Engelbrecht says the airline’s new aircraft has made the direct connection possible.

“Our new flagship aircraft, the E195-E2, makes it possible for Airlink to conveniently connect Cape Town with Mauritius. The route is an important addition to Airlink’s network and strengthens the connection between these two important tourism and business markets,” said de Villiers Engelbrecht, Airlink CEO.

Mauritius welcomed more than 1.4 million visitors in 2025, with South Africa among its largest source markets.

Beyond its beaches, the island offers luxury resorts, golf courses, turquoise lagoons and a rich multicultural heritage.

Commercial links between the two markets are also significant, with more than 140 South African businesses operating across Mauritius’s agricultural, manufacturing, consumer goods and ICT sectors.

The island’s financial services and business process outsourcing industries also support commercial ties between the markets, while its tax and offshore business incentives attract investment and trade.

What passengers can expect on the E195-E2

Airlink’s Embraer E195-E2 accommodates 124 passengers, including 12 in the airline’s staggered Business Class configuration.

Economy Class has a two-by-two seating configuration, meaning there are no middle seats.

Passengers also have access to large eye-level windows, overhead storage and power outlets.

Complimentary meals and beverages are provided onboard.

Airlink baggage allowance

Airlink customers are entitled to a 15kg sporting equipment allowance in addition to their standard luggage allowance.

Discounted Economy Class tickets include 20kg of free luggage, while full-fare Economy travellers receive a 30kg allocation.
