The actor was also known for his roles in Another World and General Hospital, but for a generation of Days of Our Lives viewers, his years as Bo Brady made him a familiar face on daytime television.

Robert Kelker-Kelly became Bo Brady on Days of Our Lives
Kelker-Kelly joined Days of Our Lives in 1992, taking over the role of Bo Brady from Peter Reckell.
He remained in the role until 1995, appearing opposite Kristian Alfonso as Hope Brady and Lisa Rinna as Billie Reed.
His portrayal of Bo became intertwined with the romance and love-triangle storylines involving Hope and Billie that kept viewers following the drama in Salem.
Kelker-Kelly won the Outstanding Lead Actor trophy at the 1994 Soap Opera Digest Awards.
His on-screen pairing with Rinna’s Billie also proved memorable, with the pair winning the Soap Opera Digest Award for Hottest Soap Couple in 1995.
Reckell returned to the role of Bo Brady in 1995.
He began his soap career on Another World
Before becoming Bo Brady, Kelker-Kelly had already established himself in daytime television.
He began his soap career in 1987 as Sam Fowler on Another World.
He later returned to the soap in other roles, including Bobby Reno and Dr Shane Roberts.
It was the beginning of a television career that would take him through several major US daytime soap operas.
Robert Kelker-Kelly also played Stavros Cassadine
After Days of Our Lives, Kelker-Kelly became known to another generation of soap viewers through General Hospital.
He played villain Stavros Cassadine, appearing in the role during the 2000s before returning in 2013 and 2014.
His appearances as Stavros would become his final on-screen television roles.
A very different career after the soaps
Kelker-Kelly eventually stepped away from full-time acting and pursued another passion: aviation.
He became a professional aircraft pilot and also worked as a flight instructor.
It was a dramatically different career from the world of Salem and daytime television that had made him familiar to millions of soap viewers.
Kelker-Kelly was previously married to Linda Rattner and later to actress Miriam Parrish.
He was 62.
For viewers who remember spending their afternoons wrapped up in Bo, Billie, Hope and the seemingly endless drama of Salem, his death marks the loss of another familiar face from a memorable era of daytime television.
