Tyla adds second Pretoria concert as Johannesburg show moves to SunBet Arena

South African superstar Tyla has added a second Gauteng concert to her A*POP World Tour, while her previously announced Johannesburg show has been moved to Pretoria’s SunBet Arena.

The two-time Grammy Award winner will now perform at SunBet Arena on Friday, 8 January and Saturday, 9 January 2027, giving fans an additional opportunity to see her live.

The 9 January concert was originally scheduled for the Nasrec Outdoor Area in Johannesburg. Promoters Showtime Management and Anything Goes confirmed that the venue change followed concerns about possible Highveld thunderstorms, a review of the audience experience and requests for seating.

Tickets for both Pretoria dates are available exclusively through Ticketmaster, with prices starting at R895, excluding service fees.

Why Tyla’s Johannesburg concert is moving to Pretoria

The original 9 January show was scheduled to take place outdoors at Nasrec.

Following concerns about possible thunderstorms and requests for seated tickets, promoters secured SunBet Arena at TimeSquare in Pretoria.

The indoor venue offers seating alongside standing areas.

Fans who have already purchased tickets for the 9 January concert do not need to buy new ones.

Existing tickets remain valid and have been automatically transferred to SunBet Arena in the same ticket category.

Howler has contacted ticketholders directly about replacement tickets, refunds and related arrangements. All tickets for the Pretoria shows have now been migrated to Ticketmaster.

Tyla adds 8 January concert due to demand

The venue change comes with another announcement: Tyla has added a second Gauteng performance on Friday, 8 January.

The additional date follows demand from fans, known as Tygers.

Tyla previously performed a sold-out concert at SunBet Arena in 2025. Her return will feature material from her second studio album, *A*POP*, which reached number one on the Billboard US World Albums chart and number three on the UK R&B Albums chart.

The Pretoria concerts form part of her 34-date A*POP World Tour, her first full headline tour.

The tour begins in Paris on 12 October before taking in dates across Europe, the UK and North America. Following her South African performances in January 2027, Tyla will head to Australia.

Tyla’s South African tour now includes three concerts, beginning in Cape Town before moving to Pretoria.

Doors open at 6pm for all three shows, with the concerts scheduled to begin at 7pm.

Tickets for the Cape Town and Pretoria concerts are sold through different official ticketing platforms.

Promoters have confirmed that Ticketmaster and Howler are the only official ticketing agents for the South African concerts. Fans are advised not to purchase tickets from other suppliers or outlets.

Age and height restrictions for Tyla’s concerts

All three concerts have a minimum event age of six years, and minors must be accompanied.

Additional restrictions apply to standing areas.

For the Cape Town concert, Golden Circle ticketholders must be at least 12 years old and 1.2 metres tall.

At SunBet Arena in Pretoria, the same requirements apply to both Golden Circle and General Access standing areas.

Ticketholders must meet both the age and height requirements to enter these sections.

Tyla returns home with new music

Tyla’s South African performances follow the release of *A*POP*, her second studio album.

The project includes “CHANEL”, which topped the US Afrobeats chart and attracted more than 150 million video views, as well as “SHE DID IT AGAIN”, featuring Zara Larsson.

Another single, “IS IT LOVE?”, earned Tyla her fourth number-one hit on the Billboard US Afrobeats chart.

Her earlier releases include the three-time RIAA Platinum hit “WATER” and the Grammy-winning “PUSH 2 START”.

With three South African concerts now confirmed, Tyla will begin 2027 with performances in Cape Town and Pretoria before continuing her world tour.
