Bontle Modiselle wins The Masked Singer SA Season 3 as Spotty

Bontle Modiselle has been crowned the winner of The Masked Singer South Africa Season 3, with the showbiz star revealed as the celebrity behind the adorable Spotty mask.

After 13 weeks of clues, performances and detective drama, Spotty claimed the Golden Mask trophy in a finale that kept audiences guessing until the final reveal.

Inbound SA had front-row seats to the action as the remaining contestants took off their masks, revealing some of South Africa’s biggest entertainment personalities.

Spotty beats Mosquito to claim the Golden Mask

Spotty faced two fierce face-offs before going head-to-head with Mosquito in the final showdown.

Both contestants performed to Black Coffee and David Guetta’s “Drive”, but it was Spotty who secured the victory.

When the furry canine mask finally came off, Bontle Modiselle was revealed as the Season 3 champion.

Bontle joins previous winners Holly Rey, who claimed the Season 1 title as Lollipop, and Warren Masemola, who won Season 2 as Giraffe.

The victory was particularly meaningful for Bontle, who became emotional as she reflected on the experience and described how her younger self had finally been validated.

Robot Boii, Khanyi Mbau and Judith Sephuma revealed

Spotty was not the only celebrity to be unmasked during the finale.

Mosquito was revealed as Robot Boii, the content creator, award-winning dancer, musician and television presenter.

Khanyi Mbau was the celebrity behind the glamorous Chopsticks costume, while Afro-jazz singer Judith Sephuma was revealed as Gogga.

The four reveals brought an end to weeks of speculation about the celebrities competing beneath the elaborate masks.

Which detectives guessed correctly?

The detective panel of J’Something, Somizi Mhlongo, Sithelo Shozi and Skhumba Hlophe faced several difficult decisions during the finale.

Somizi, Sithelo and Skhumba correctly identified Khanyi Mbau as Chopsticks.

Clues describing the celebrity as an “It” girl, tastemaker, social butterfly and red-carpet regular helped them reach the right conclusion.

J’Something, however, guessed actress Nandi Madida.

He made up for that miss by correctly identifying Judith Sephuma as Gogga.

J’Something recognised her distinctive voice and recalled helping to set up her rehearsal room before launching his own career.

Somizi also correctly identified Judith, while Sithelo and Skhumba missed the mark.

Mosquito proved easier to identify, with all four detectives correctly guessing Robot Boii.

Spotty’s identity keeps detectives guessing

Despite Spotty’s success throughout the competition, her identity remained the finale’s biggest mystery.

J’Something had previously suspected presenter Pabi Moloi. For his final guess, he considered Bontle Modiselle and singer-songwriter Boohle but ultimately chose Boohle.

Sithelo guessed Generations star Vatiswa Ndara, while Skhumba selected sports broadcaster Motshidisi Mohono.

Somizi was the only detective to correctly identify Bontle as Spotty.

His performance throughout the season also earned him the Golden Ear award for making the most correct first guesses.
