Judith Sephuma returns to gospel after nine years with live worship experience

13

After nine years away from the gospel genre, celebrated South African vocalist Judith Sephuma is answering her fans’ calls with a new musical chapter.

Lalomba Music has announced Judith Sephuma – A Worship Experience, a live gospel recording taking place on Friday, 27 November 2026, at the Theatre of Marcellus at Emperors Palace.

The event marks Sephuma’s return to gospel following the release of her album My Worship in 2017.

Since then, audiences have repeatedly called for the award-winning singer to revisit the genre. Now, she is responding with more than another gospel album.

Sephuma is creating an immersive live worship experience that will capture the emotion, energy and authenticity of music performed in front of an audience.

Fans will become part of the recording

Joined by her musicians, Sephuma will take to the stage to record her new gospel project live.

Music, worship and testimony will come together throughout the evening, with the audience playing an integral role in the recording.

Their voices, energy and collective response will become part of the final project.

Unlike a conventional concert or album launch, Judith Sephuma – A Worship Experience will give fans the opportunity to become part of the creative process.

Their presence will help preserve the atmosphere and spontaneity of the evening, capturing the spirit of live worship in the resulting project.

A deeply personal return for Judith Sephuma

For Sephuma, returning to gospel after nine years is deeply personal.

The new project reflects her faith, spiritual growth and the life experiences that have shaped her since My Worship.

“Worship, for me, is more than a song—it is a lifestyle and a daily surrender to God. Through every season, God’s grace has carried me, turning my pain into purpose and my tears into testimony. Being a child of God means walking in the assurance of His love, and my life is simply a vessel for His glory. Nine years later, we are ready to deliver A Worship Experience,” says Sephuma.

New gospel music and fan favourites

The live recording will feature songs from Sephuma’s forthcoming gospel project alongside selected favourites from her repertoire.

Audiences can expect an evening of powerful vocals, worship, reflection, gratitude and celebration.

For fans who have spent nearly a decade asking Sephuma to return to gospel, 27 November will offer the opportunity to witness and become part of the next chapter in her gospel journey.

Judith Sephuma – A Worship Experience takes place at the Theatre of Marcellus at Emperors Palace on Friday, 27 November 2026.

Tickets are available through Webtickets.
