Robbie Williams warns of vision risks linked to weight loss injections

Robbie Williams has issued a warning to fans after becoming convinced the weight loss injections he uses are harming his eyesight. The 51-year-old singer says his vision has declined steadily since he started using Mounjaro, a medication popular for weight management.

He explains that the decline began slowly. Mild blurriness came and went, which he put down to age or tiredness. Over time, the change intensified. Everyday activities are now affected, from watching sport to making eye contact with fans during live shows.

A turning point during a sports broadcast
Williams says the realisation happened while watching an American football game. He could no longer identify individual players. Instead of precise figures, he saw “shapes on the field,” unable to focus on any detail.

Impact on stage performances
The issue followed him on stage. During a recent concert, while singing “She’s The One” to a fan, he struggled to see her face. The moment left him shaken and more convinced there may be a link to Mounjaro.

A warning to others
Speaking to The Sun, Williams encouraged others to take potential side effects seriously. He says he wishes he had recognised the signs sooner. “I want to warn people reading this of the potential risks, to make sure they do their research.”
Despite his fears, he says he is not ready to stop the injections. He joked that he might continue “until the sight in one eye has completely gone.”

The difficult trade-off
Williams calls the choice a difficult compromise. The treatment has supported his physical health and eased emotional strain. “It’s helped my mind as much as my body.”

What medical experts are reporting
His concerns align with emerging findings linking semaglutide, the drug class behind Mounjaro, to a rare eye condition called NAION. Regulators now list the condition as a “very rare” side effect. Williams hopes his experience encourages more informed conversations and urges fans to stay alert and aware.
