This past weekend, Hidden Valley Wine Farm in Stellenbosch transformed into a runway for African Fashion International’s (AFI) Harvest Table – an exclusive fashion event where style met storytelling in the heart of South Africa’s wine country.
The AFI Harvest Table 2025 delivered a holistic sensory experience celebrating couture, cuisine, cultivar and culture.
Fashion inspired by the vineyard
Opening the show was House of Fabrosanz, setting the tone for a day of bold designs. The spotlight then turned to NALA Privé, whose Summer 2025 Signature Collection, Be Fruitful and Multiply, was introduced by none other than the recently crowned Miss South Africa 2025, Qhawekazi Mazaleni.

The collection was presented in four movements – The Seed, The Root, The Harvest, and The Legacy – echoing the stages of growth found in both vineyards and amongst creative ateliers. “Fashion, like winemaking, is a process,” said Loice Dube, designer at NALA Privé. “You prepare, you plant, you wait. What grows from that patience is something lasting.”
Drawing inspiration from the vineyards and its natural textures, the collection embraced earthy hues, flowing silhouettes and artisanal detailing.

Spotlight on South African designers
Also showcased at the event were celebrated local designers such as Palesa Mokubung, Stephen Van Eeden, Sarayaa, The Set, Jeyna A, and Urban Zulu. Each designer highlighted unique creative perspectives, weaving together cultural heritage, modern design and precision craftsmanship.
AFI’s Harvest Table is more than a fashion show – it’s a celebration of African creativity. It reminds us that style is not just what we wear – it’s how we connect to place, purpose and legacy.
