Disney+ Brings ESPN Africa Channels to South Africa at No Extra Cost

Disney+ has announced that, starting October 2, 2025, South African subscribers will gain access to ESPN Africa’s two 24-hour linear channels at no additional cost.

This addition gives fans the ultimate sports experience — from global leagues to local favourites — on top of Disney+’s extensive catalogue of blockbuster films, series, and Originals.

What to Expect on ESPN

ESPN Channel

  • National Rugby League (Australia)
  • Japan Rugby League
  • Scottish Professional Football League
  • English Football League
  • Dutch Eredivisie
  • German FA Cup
  • Turkey’s SüperLig
  • Saudi Pro League

ESPN 2 Channel

  • NBA (National Basketball Association)
  • NFL (National Football League)
  • MLB (Major League Baseball)
  • NHL (National Hockey League)
  • Women’s and college sports, including NWSL and NCAA football & basketball

Both channels also feature studio shows like ESPN FC, First Take, The Pat McAfee Show, and SportsCenter, along with ESPN’s acclaimed 30 for 30 documentaries.
