In a grand celebration of cultural unity and innovation, Mahlndra & Mahindra marked two decades of presence in South Africa with the Mahindra Fusion Fest, a vibrant festival that captivated over 7 000 attendees. The event served not only as a reflection of the brand’s journey but also as a launchpad for its latest compact SUV, the XUV 3XO, marking a new chapter in Mahindra’s dynamic evolution within the country’s automotive landscape

Entering the South African market in 2004, Mahindra has rapidly grown its footprint, boasting over 100 000 customers and 95 dealerships across the nation. Models such as the Scorpio, XUV 700, and the award-winning Scorpio-N have established Mahindra’s reputation for reliable and capable SUVs.

With the introduction of the XUV 3XO, Mahindra aims to penetrate the compact SUV segment, blending accessibility with advanced technology and striking design.

Veejay Nakra, President of Mahindra’s Automotive Division said, “Our journey in South Africa has been more than just vehicles – it’s about building a legacy of trust, innovation, and community impact.”

The Sunbet Arena was lit with a kaleidoscope of colour as South Africa’s A-lister performers took to the stage. Heavyweights included Mi Casa, Young Stunna, Cassper Nyovest, Sjava, Tarryn Lamb, Matthew Mole and many more.

Inbound SA had front-row seats to all the action as the acts showcased a stella performance alongside high-energy dancers and aerial performers.

The Mahindra Fusion Fest was a testament to the brand’s approach of intertwining automotive excellence with cultural engagement. With genre-defying performances and fashion inspired by the XUV 3XO, the festival encapsulated Mahindra’s core values, promoting exploration and boundary-pushing. A highlight was the unveiling of “Discover the X Line by Thula Sindi”, showcasing a fashion collection that perfectly mirrored the bold and youthful spirit of South Africa. Three exclusive Thula Sindi Edition XUV 3XO SUVs were also displayed, embodying a seamless integration of automotive prowess and contemporary fashion.

In a unique display of artistic collaboration, the festival featured impressive installations, including a monumental sculpture built by university students and live graffiti murals by street artists.

Rajesh Gupta, CEO of Mahindra South Africa, added, “No celebration is truly meaningful without giving back. Through Fusion Fest, we are proud to have raised funds for 10 large charities, ensuring that our impact goes beyond a single night and continues to touch lives.”
