The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has confirmed the official grant payment dates for July 2026, providing millions of beneficiaries with clarity on when they can expect their monthly payments.
The agency will continue its staggered payment system, with grants paid over three separate days to improve efficiency and reduce congestion at collection points.
July 2026 SASSA Payment Dates
Older Persons Grant
- Thursday, 2 July 2026
Disability Grant
- Friday, 3 July 2026
Children’s Grants
(Including Child Support, Foster Child and Care Dependency Grants)
- Monday, 6 July 2026
Children’s grants will be paid on Monday, 6 July, as the 4th and 5th of July fall over a weekend and SASSA does not process grant payments on weekends.
SRD R370 Grant Payments
Beneficiaries receiving the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) R370 grant should note that payments are not made on a single fixed date.
Instead, payments are processed in staggered batches during the latter part of the month. Beneficiaries are encouraged to check their individual payment status through the official SASSA SRD portal to confirm their payment date.
No Need to Rush to Collect
SASSA has again reminded beneficiaries that funds remain available in their accounts after payment. There is no requirement to withdraw money on the exact payment date, helping to reduce long queues and overcrowding at collection points.
Gold Card Migration Deadline Approaching
Beneficiaries who still use a SASSA Gold Card are reminded that Postbank is phasing out the cards by 31 August 2026. Grant recipients are encouraged to replace their Gold Cards with the new Postbank Black Card before the deadline.
Where to Collect Your Grant
Grant payments can be accessed through:
- Pick n Pay
- Boxer
- Checkers

- Participating ATMs
SASSA has urged beneficiaries to plan ahead, avoid unnecessary crowds and ensure their banking and personal details remain up to date.
